I meant to post about this last weekend but I've been working stupid nightshifts and it's totally messed me up, I have no clue what day it is, it does not feel like a Friday night that's for sure.
So since my first post I plucked up the courage to buy a sewing machine, yes you heard right a sewing machine. I can't express how excited I am about this, I have always wanted to learn to sew and make my own things but I never had the guts to try it. I've been meaning to take up a new hobby besides exercise so this is it. How cool eh? Haha. I bought a pretty basic sewing machine but the reviews said it was great for beginners so it's ideal for me to get started. It' been great so far, it's really easy to work, which I like.I can totally see myself getting addicted to sewing, I can see why people love it. A lot of people think it's an old persons hobby. Oh how wrong they are, I know so many young women who sew and make their own clothes. I was shopping today and every time I picked up an item I liked I thought, I wonder how I could make that. I have spent an incredible amount of time reading about how to start sewing and leaning the jargon, which by the way is difficult to get my head around, it's like a foreign language but hey, I'm sure I'll pick it up in time.
On Monday I completed my first sewing project, a tote bag. I'm pretty impressed with it seeing I've never made anything like this before and I only had to unpick one seam (I got the right sides together wrong)
A cath kidston inspired bag I think. I just love all things floral, it's such ashame my husband doesn't feel this same way. I'm excited to get stuck in now and see what else I can put together.
Anyway, time to sleep!!
Love Kirsty x
